Family Resources / Youth Services Center

The FRYSC center provides services to children and their families who attend school in Lyon County. The Center's primary objective is to help remove barriers that interfere with all of our children being successful in school. The Center assists families in utilizing community resources such as Social Services, Social Insurance, Mental Health, the Health Department, and the Housing Authority. The Center also provides assistance/referrals with food, clothing, and other basic needs. Parenting classes and other training activities are offered throughout the year as needed.

FRYSC staff is available to assist teachers in home visits, the flow of school and home communication, concerns of students' poor attendance and/or classroom performance, and to work with parents in maintaining positive school/home relations. It's located by the Central Office and is open Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. all year. Emergency assistance is available after hours and holidays through the Center's message service. Please call Teresa Young at 270.388.9715, Ext. 411 for information concerning services available or visit the FRYSC center.
