    Yoga classes will be held every Thursday!

    Cost: $6

    The public is invited. Bring a mat. 

    When: From 4:30 — 5:30 p.m., every Thursday

    Where: Lyon County Elementary School Gym

    Yoga Instructor: Jannette Parent of Trilogy Performance Sports

    A portion of the proceeds go towards the Imagination Library, which sends free books to Lyon County children ages 0-5.

    The third Friday of each month, after 3:00 P.M., routine pesticide treatments will be performed in all buildings.  Services are done by HomePro Advantage using Lambda Cyhalothrin (9.7%) with a pressure sprayer to classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms and utility areas. Targeted pests are spiders, ants, beetles, etc. MSDS information is available upon request.  If your child has any allergies to such treatments, please call Chad Jezik, Safety Director, at (270) 388-9308.  His office is located at 217 Jenkins Road, Eddyville, Kentucky.

    ACT® Prep Workshop

    $300       Sept. 21, 28, and Oct.12, 19

    Please note that two Saturdays are in Paducah and two in Graves Co.  (We will also conduct a Fall Break Workshop October 8-11.)

    The Workshop:  The 16-hour workshop is open to all students from all schools in the area. Students will not only review the subject matter, but will also learn ACT-specific test-taking strategies.  The instructors will teach the different types of questions the ACT uses, methods for handling difficult questions, and tips for dealing with tight time limits. 

     

    Workshop Instructors:      

    Shawn Baldwin, B.S., M.A. will teach the Math and Science sessions

    •  Former teacher at Graves County Middle School

    •  Math tutor 11 years

    •  Scored 35 on ACT, including 36 on both Math and Science sections

     

    •  Kelly King Walden, M.A. in English, will teach the English and Reading sessions

    •  ACT tutor for 13 years

    •  Former English teacher at University of Alabama and WKCTC

     

    Location: Reidland Church of Christ and Lowes Elementary

    Sept. 21 and 28 are at Reidland Church of Christ.

    Oct. 12 and 19 are at Lowes Elementary in Graves Co.

    Both locations run from 10:00-3:00 each Saturday with a one hour break for lunch.

    Cost: $300 for all sessions.  Participants must bring a calculator to the Lowes sessions.

    Earn a $50 discount by referring a friend. Have the friend mention your name when he or she registers.

    Scholarships are available by counselor referral.
